FindIt501 (“FindIt501,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at findit501.com (the “Service”), a directory of businesses in Belize. By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Business submissions & claims — when you list, claim, or request changes to a business, we collect the details you provide (business name, contact name, phone, email, description, category, district).
- Reviews & ratings — the display name, star rating, and comment you submit. We store a random device token to prevent duplicate reviews; this is not linked to your identity.
Information collected automatically
- Search activity — the search terms entered and how many results they returned, used to improve search. These logs are aggregated and do not include your name or contact details.
- Approximate location — if you allow it, your browser shares your location so we can show nearby businesses. This is processed in your browser and is not stored on our servers.
- Saved lists & preferences — stored locally in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers.
- Basic usage analytics — standard, privacy-respecting metrics (e.g. page views) to understand how the Service is used.
Business listing data
Many listings are compiled from publicly available sources (public business directories, websites, and similar) and from business owner submissions. See our Listing Data & Removal Policy for how to claim, correct, or remove a listing.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the directory and search.
- To display business listings, reviews, and ratings.
- To respond to submissions, claims, corrections, and removal requests.
- To contact a business owner about a listing or membership they initiated.
- To detect, prevent, and address spam, abuse, or technical issues.
3. Service providers we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. They only process data needed to provide their service:
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Supabase — secure database for reviews and analytics.
- LocationIQ — converts business addresses to map coordinates.
- Email delivery — to send and receive listing/membership messages.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use your browser’s local storage for features like your saved list, a search-personalization token, and a one-review-per-device check. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
5. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — request a copy of, or correction to, information about you or your business.
- Listing removal — request removal of a business listing (see the Listing Data & Removal Policy).
- Review removal — request removal of a review you posted, or report a review that breaks our rules.
- Location — deny or revoke browser location access at any time.

6. Data retention & security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service can be 100% secure.
7. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed at children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
